David Gelsthorpe for County Commissioner Precinct 4
Experienced. Trusted.
Ready to Serve.
With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement—including serving honorably as Chief of Police—I’m running to be your next Hill County Commissioner for Precinct 4. My entire career has been dedicated to public service, and I’m ready to bring that same commitment, integrity, and leadership to the county level.
My background has taught me the importance of transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility. As Chief of Police, I managed multi-million-dollar departmental budgets, oversaw emergency operations, and built lasting partnerships with community stakeholders. I know how to make tough decisions, allocate resources wisely, and get results that matter.
Hill County is where my wife and I call home, and like many of you, I care deeply about preserving our rural values while preparing responsibly for future growth. I believe Precinct 4 needs a commissioner who understands both the big picture and the day-to-day needs of our community—someone who will listen, lead with integrity, and work hard to protect what makes Hill County special.
Priorities
Infrastructure: Improve and maintain our roads and bridges with long-term planning and smart budgeting.
Fiscal Responsibility: Ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently, with full transparency.
Public Safety: Support our law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and emergency management services.
Community Voice: Be accessible and accountable to the residents of Precinct 4.
This isn’t about politics—it’s about service. I’m not a career politician. I’m a public servant, a husband, a father, and a proud resident of Hill County. I’m running because I believe in this community and want to ensure it remains strong for generations to come.
